Broaching the Potential of ‘YOUNIVERSE’ by Aditi Singh Tharran.
My most recent work is a poem I recently published, entitled ‘YOUNIVERSE’ which tackles the issue of self-esteem and personal talent. This acrostic poem created by Aditi Singh Tharran is a beautiful message of how everyone comes into the world with a special, individual something. The title itself, “YOUNIVERSE,” reflects the central theme of the poem: feeling unique and useful given an individual sense, character, or contribution to the much larger picture of the universe.
Theme Conveyed By YOUNIVERSE
The poem is arranged in the form of an acrostic, which is built to stress the letters of YOUNIVERSE, which signifies that, you are the universe. Every line of the poem keeps appealing to this concept and thus encourages the readers to embrace who they are and whatever they have been blessed with. The tendencies of ‘repetition compulsion’ found in the novel can be viewed as the use of the repeated word “YOUNIVERSE” to emphasize self-value and unique identity.
It consoles the reader to the fact that they cannot be replaced and their inner voice may be weak but it is a beacon in the mysteries of life. This message is underlined with a call to get help with dreams and be all that one wants to and can be.
“YOUNIVERSE” can be considered not only a poem but the poem-anthem of confidence and self-affirmation achieved with the help of metaphors and proper rhythm. It claims there is an ‘ensemble that declares every individual is valuable since he or she has his or her proper role or niche in the universe’. Overall this poem is an encouraging nudge that you are the universe and each one of you is unique and wants in this world.
Thus, in my poem YOUNIVERSE, Aditi Singh Tharran call on society to cherish their inner worlds and unique selves, because one’s existence and aspirations are equally precious to the whole world.
